Three exceptional internships

I have professional experience in three different settings. I love working while taking classes because it keeps me on my toes. I thrive in a fast-paced environment, and it's a great pairing to learn skills in my classes and put them into action at work. My number one goal for my internships? Don't act like an intern. I strive to go above and beyond and take on the most work I can to be more prepared for my first job. Check out the incredible organizations for which I've had the pleasure and honor to work for.

Samford Hall

Aug. 2017-current

Auburn University Office of Communications & Marketing

This internship has been such a great experience. In a smaller office, I've had the opportunity to manage email content through a content management system, write press releases featured on the university homepage, compile pitch lists and draft pitches for the media. It's so much fun to communicate for the school I love and attend!

AEI office building

May 2017-Aug. 2017

American Enterprise Institute

AEI is one of the premiere public policy think tanks in the country, located in the heart of Washington D.C.; it is rooted in the free market enterprise system. As a media relations intern, I was privileged to work with the team to pitch scholars' research to national media outlets. I learned the foundation of media relations and assisted media coordinators by compiling media lists, crafting social media content and posting scholars' work to the AEI homepage. Through intern meetings with scholars and special speaker events, I learned the ins and outs of current political issues and public policy.

Auburn University Student Center

Aug. 2016-May 2017

Auburn University Student Affairs Communication & Marketing

My internship with Student Affairs was the first encounter I had with public relations. Under the direction of the manager of communication & marketing, I wrote stories for the website, managed all Student Affairs social media accounts and worked on special projects for the 13 departments under Student Affairs.
