I completed this project in spring 2017 in my PR Case Studies course. Throughout the semester, we learned the tools needed to dissect crises and campaigns for what works and what doesn't. There's no better way to learn than from examples, and I really enjoyed learning about the history of great (and not so great) public relations campaigns and crisis communications.
As a product of what we learned, my group analyzed the Samsung Galaxy S7 exploding phone crisis. This is a very interesting case due to the impact and danger of the exploding phone, the lack of communication from Samsung and the success of the next version of the phone. As an international corporation, Samsung acted quite differently than an American-based company might have in their same situation. Read our case study to learn the specifics.
